Installation
Bitcoin DX Wallet For Windows
Prerequisites
- Windows 10.
- 3 GB storage.
- Internet.
Instructions
You can install Bitcoin DX for Windows systems using the below steps.
- Download Bitcoin DX for Windows from here.
- Click the Get It On Windows 10 button.
- You will be prompted to save a file called bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x-windows.zip. Save this to your Desktop.
- Right-click bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x-windows.zip on your Desktop and extract the file to your Desktop.
- You will now see a new file on your Desktop called bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x.exe. This is the Bitcoin DX wallet app.
- Double-click to open bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x.exe.
- You will be prompted with a welcome screen at first launch. Select the following options:
- Use the default data directory.
- Limit block chain storage to: 2 GB.
- Bitcoin DX will now perform an initial sync, which will complete after a duration. You can click Hide.
- Click the Create a new wallet button.
- Enter a personalized name for your wallet.
- Check the box for Encrypted.
- Click Create.
- You will be prompted to enter a password. This will be used to encrypt your wallet. Enter a STRONG password.

Bitcoin DX Wallet for Mac OS X
Prerequisites
- Apple Mac OS 10.15 or higher.
- 3 GB storage.
- Internet.
Instructions
You can install Bitcoin DX for Mac OS X devices using the below steps.
- Download Bitcoin DX for Mac OS from here.
- When the download is complete, check your Downloads folder using Finder and find BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app.
- Click to open BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app.
- You may receive a warning prompt suggesting “BitcoinDX Core” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified. You will need to manually allow BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app.
- Click on the Apple logo at the top-left corner of the screen.
- Click System Preferences.
- In System Preferences, click to open Security & Privacy.
- In Security & Privacy > General tab, click the Padlock icon to unlock settings.
- You may be prompted to enter your local account password. Enter it and click OK.
- You will see an option below suggesting “BitcoinDX Core” was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer. Click the Open Anyway button.
- BitcoinDX Core will now start.
- You will be prompted with a welcome screen at first launch. Select the following options:
- Use the default data directory.

- Bitcoin DX will now perform an initial sync, which will complete after a duration. You can click Hide.
- Click the Create a new wallet button.
- Enter a personalized name for your wallet.

- (Optional) Return to your Downloads folder in Finder and drag the file BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app to your Desktop.

Create a Wallet ID
A wallet ID is a unique address belonging to you, for the purpose of receiving funds.
You can create a unique wallet ID by following the below steps.
- Open bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x.exe (Windows) or BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app (Mac) on your Desktop.
- Click the Receive tab in the top menu bar.
- Add a Label which will be easy for you to identify.
- Create new receiving address.
- You will then be presented with a pop-up window displaying a QR code, URI, Address and Label of your Wallet ID.
- Finish.
And just like that, you are ready to receive funds into your BCDX wallet.
Transfer Funds
You can transfer funds using the below steps.
Prerequisites
- Wallet ID of the receiving party.
Instructions
- Open bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x.exe (Windows) or BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app (Mac) on your Desktop.
- Click the Send tab.
- Pay To: Enter the wallet ID of the recipient.
- Label: Enter a description for the recipient. This will be saved to your wallet’s personal address book.
- Amount: Enter the BCDX amount you wish to transfer.
- (Optional) Transaction Fee.
- Here, you can manually enter a transaction fee of your preference.
- A higher fee will result in improved transaction times. Our recommendation is 0.0001 BCDX.
- Check Enable Replace-By-Fee.
- Click Send.
- You will receive a verification pop-up, confirming your transaction one last time before committing.
- When ready, click Sign & Send.
- Finish.
Backup Your Wallet
Backing up your wallet is a good practice in ensuring your funds are safe.
You can backup your wallet to a local device or cloud storage using the below steps.
- Open bitcoindx-qt-22.0.x.exe (Windows) or BitcoinDX-qt-22.0.x.app (Mac) on your Desktop.
- Click File -> Backup Wallet…
- You will receive a Save File Dialogue, choose a location such as a portable HDD, Dropbox or OneDrive.
- Enter a file name and click Save.
- Finish.
Your wallet will now be backed up to a DAT file in the location you saved. Keep this file safe in case you wish to recover from a backup.
A backup contains all your funds that are Live on the blockchain.
